What lifesaving equipment is required on quays?
According to SRVFS 2007:5, quays must be equipped with lifebuoys, rescue hooks, and fixed rescue ladders to ensure safe access from the water. Shore Safety provides complete rescue stations that include a type-approved rescue ladder, lifebuoy, rescue hook, and reflective signage, ensuring full compliance and quick accessibility in emergencies.
How often should rescue ladders be placed along a quay?
Fixed rescue ladders must be installed at intervals of no more than 50 meters, and as close as 25 meters in high-traffic or high-risk areas. This ensures that a person in the water is always within reach of a safe exit point. Reflective markings and signage must make each ladder clearly visible both day and night.

Quays are exposed to continuous moisture, salt spray, and mechanical wear. Shore Safety equipment is built using hot-dip galvanized steel, marine-grade aluminum, stainless-steel fittings, and UV-stabilized reflectors, ensuring resistance to corrosion, fading, and deformation.
